This year, NX10 will look at the NEW REALITIES of news and broadcasting: Those new realities will include:
Social networking tools and the new realities of the roles they play in newsgathering and distribution
Stories making global headlines and the new realities of how those stories are covered and shared
New management styles based on business and financial imperatives
Seeing what cutting edge technology is being used to get stories back to the studio and out to the audience in the most creative and eye-catching ways possible
The new realities of monetization --- how to make money from our content, how to battle against aggregators who make that same content -- our content -- available for free
And the new reality that we are no longer in this alone - we'll also take a look at what newspapers are doing in digital media and examine whether there are lessons to be learned from their experience in what was previously the broadcasters' domain.
